Thanksgiving Greetings to all, A beautiful time of year full with gatherings, gratitude, grace, and giving. This past few weeks has been a devastating time for thousands of people who have lost their homes, family members, and pets in the California fires. Yes, our prayers do help lift, love, and support others. However, there are times that sending money is the best way to help in disasters. I’ve been spending lots of time reflecting on and sending prayers to the first responders, fire fighters, and support people who are spending hours away from their families, fighting flames for days on end. There is so much help needed right now....it’s unimaginable. I’ve looked around to find some real resources if donation is part of what you are able to do at this time. Here’s a few resources that I saw in a NY Times article, “How to Help California Fire Victims.” CharityNavigator.org American Red Cross California Fire Foundation California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund I know some of you and/or your families have had a difficult year between the hurricanes and fires. Know you are thought of, prayed for, and lifted as you move through the challenges these unexpected traumas deliver. Thanksgiving Prayer from my heart to yours! Universal God, we give thanks for each other, our communities of prayer, hope, family, and friends. We give thanks for the blessings of listening with our hearts open that we might hear and understand others’ needs alongside our own. That we serve as conduits of love using whatever skills we have to lift, help and heal our human, animal, and environmental communities. Help us to embrace a generous compassionate space within us that we may easily move from that place in our world. We are grateful for the blessed bounty of nourishment from our earth mother that sustains our vitality. We give thanks for the blessings of those who serve to keep us safe from harm...all women and men who have chosen to dedicate their lives in the military with honor for our protection. Gratitude for first responders, EMT’s, physicians, firemen and women, and officers with integrity who save lives every day. We are grateful for our planet and all those who walk upon it. Especially for our Native American elders, brothers and sisters who took care of this land, this earth mother, with respect and gratitude... always! Amen Aho Mitakuye Oyasin Happy Thanksgiving to all! Love, Light, and Blessings of Peace, Caron
