Today I give thanks to our Veterans. All those in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Reserves who give all or part of their lives to serve our country. I remember images of soldiers dressed in uniform, wars fought throughout the years, and men and women who were dedicated to protect and bring peace in our world.
However, war is never kind to anyone. Some of our soldiers come home with scars on all levels of their being. The pain of injury and disfigurement, emotional challenges of trying to live a "normal" life after spending time breathing dirt and sand, losing friends, and holding unwanted thoughts and trauma deep in their memory.
Today honor the humans that our Veterans are. The mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, sisters and brothers, who live beside us holding the pain of their service as well as the honor of serving.
Many Blessings of Peace to You All!
