A true season of change in the North East. Autumn unfolds, apples, pears, and pumpkins abound. We crave warm drinks, hearty soups, and sweaters. Color bursts from the trees around us and the winds of change shower their leaves everywhere we look. The wild turkeys are back feeding on the acorns dropping from the trees, and the deer coats are thickening to keep them warm in the cold. Change is part of the outer world we live in, and can be a wonderful mirror for our human experience. Using nature as metaphor, what are the changes that would support your healing this month? When pain is part of daily life we can fall into the pattern of waiting for the pain to change so we can begin the beautiful dreams of our life. However, one thing we can always count on is change. Our experience changes from moment to moment whether we are consciously aware of it or not. Sensations rise and fall, our emotions, thoughts, and experiences come and go throughout our day. Witnessing the flow of change, riding it's wave, and initiating our own change is powerful.
