Wow, the last solstice of the decade! I woke this morning on an inner travel through my experiences of the last 10 years. Solstice is a beautiful juxtaposition of choice for me. It reflects the stark, sometimes dark, challenges in my life. The way I hold on, cross my arms over my heart, stamp my feet, and witness the struggle of consciously choosing to let go of the way it all was. Yes, this year more than many before, a sense of nostalgia surrounds me. It's tricky this reflecting business! While reflection can be a wonderful tool of discovery, it requires the presence to not get lost in the past. Reflection helps me remember why, with who, and how I lived, what I manifested or didn't, and what I continue to yearn for...shifting the focus from the past to designing, embracing, envisioning, and embodying the now.
The short days of winter provide the perfect setting to turn inward, feed our inner light, settle into the quiet, and strengthen our resources. With resilience and renewed commitment to our journeys, a vibrant life force rises to ground those commitments into action. As we support ourselves, we find new opportunities for giving and reflecting the light of our nourished soul to lift those who struggle.
Winter Solstice, considered the darkest day of our year, is a wonderful day to meditate, to reflect, and to commit to exploring what needs to be set free, to deliberately change so we can welcome more light, love, life, and healing during 2020.
May you have a Blessed Solstice and may the light of the season awaken the light within you. Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Joyous Kwanzaa, Shalom, Peace, Sat Nam, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
Love, Light, and Joyous Peace ~ Caron
